Hello, hi, and hey! Have you ever painted your nails? Have you ever wanted to? Are you just not sure where to even start? Well if you are curious stick around and let me give you some pointers! I have been painting my nails for years now. I have gone to nail salons to get pedicures and manicures. I have painted my friend's and sister's nails. Along with watching countless videos of other people painting their nails both professionals and everyday regular people like you and me. So sit back, relax, and let's start!
First off they are a few different types of nail polishes and techniques used for nail application. However, I will be focusing on only one type of nail polish because it is the most beginner friendly. Lacquer nail polish is the most basic form of nail polish and the easiest to use as a beginner. This is because you don't need any fancy equipment or any extra steps. Lacquer polishes apply smoothly and air dries within time depending on the brand you use. These are very common and can be found in almost any store like CVS, Target, and Walmart. They come in a large pool of colors from dark to light shades and just about any color on the color wheel. I will include three popular brands below that are pretty common in stores and online.
After your lacquer nail polish it is time for a clear top coat! Clear top coats can and should be added to your lacquer nail polish. This is because it acts as a hard case and protective seal for the color underneath thus preventing chipping of the manicure. Before you apply this make sure the color you are going to put it over is fully dry. Otherwise, as the clear top coat dries the underneath can still crumble and have indents if pushed. I have listed the same brands as above and their clear top coats.
That concludes this blog post but keep in mind, nail polish goes much deeper than this believe it or not. From the matte top coats and shimmer/glitter top coats. Along with gel polishes and the UV lamps used to cure it. I will have to make another post discussing the rest of it otherwise we would be here all day!
Nice theme! But I legit can't paint my own nails. My hands are so incredibly shaky. It always looks like a three-year-old painted them. So thank you!
ReplyDeleteHonestly probably the best blog I've read so far! What pulled me in was the "purr" because I be saying that sometimes haha
ReplyDeleteI was never really an avid nail-painter for the majority of my life, but recently I have become more interested in doing it. However, due to my sheer lack of experience, my nail polish usually ends up all over the surrounding skin. For me, I just use hot water to sort of scrape it off for a cleaner look, but maybe I should take up watching nail-painting videos too because clearly I'm missing something. Also, I haven't really used clear polish on top of my nails, so thank you for the tip!!
